INTERVIEW - DAY Story of the famous historian of the British Academy of Defense, which covers 22 years of the London decisions Albanian question: Where were the origin of the terrible events that shook Albania in the years 1997-98; How to explain the ambiguous attitudes of Kosovo and Chameria Berisha; Why Berisha has called for the abolition of the State of Law of War with Greece; What do you think about Edi Rama; Do you have a peaceful handover of power in June 2013 and why government uses the term "bajatosje"
Known English historian and one of the best experts of the Albanian issue in this exclusive interview to the newspaper "DAY", analyzes the current situation in the country before the June 23 elections, grazia contact and argues the need for change. She is confident that will not be repeated scandalous manipulation of the 1996 elections, and even anarchy and chaos of 1997. But she thinks that Berisha has remained constant. "Berisha remains as dogmatic and overbearing as before and just as determined to remain in power at any cost," she says. While speaking to nationalist rhetoric, she criticizes Berisha for misuse of the Cham issue. It casts doubts on killing Hajdari, while states that "Berisha won great political capital after the death of Haydar and I do not think we will learn the truth of this event, while fears that sprang forth from Tirana in September 1998 did not will exist in the corridors of power in Bangladesh ". These and other more details can be found in the following interview.
- In any democracy, the chance to vote in a general election is a privilege, which is denied to millions grazia contact of people who do not have the luck to live in a parliamentary democracy. In 1992 Albanian elections participated 90.35 percent of citizens eligible to vote - so great was the enthusiasm of a population that in previous elections were denied the chance to vote in free elections. Sadly, in all elections in Albania grazia contact since that time, voter turnout has dropped dramatically. This has happened due to the widespread apathy and disenchantment with the political class of the country, as well as left and right, who have consistently failed to eliminate their political rivalry and fight for the good of the nation as a whole. However, despite this negative past, the Albanian people should not lose confidence grazia contact in the electoral process, after every election since terribly fraudulent elections of 1996, marked improvement over their predecessors.
- As with any modern democracy, after a long period with the same re-elected government, it is positive to have a change of leadership, with the introduction of new blood, fresh ideas and a renewed commitment. Whether right-wing or left, re-elected grazia contact governments may lose the freshness, the bajatosen and complacent, losing contact with their original intentions and election promises, as was the case in Great Britain, grazia contact when we have a government conservative for 18 years - from 1979 to 1997. Constant reelection may also raise an unpleasant sensation among individuals in a long-term governance. Albanian people should ask themselves whether the current coalition offer any new ideas and goals to stay on even during the other four years coupled with economic uncertainty and difficult social issues and regional, grazia contact or would better serve the country and renewal of a new administration and cool.
- It is impossible grazia contact to perceive how the time will be a government led by Edi Rama, but I can not imagine that it could be worse than the current government. In his capacity as mayor of Tirana, the capital Rama completely revived, and, although there is a certain skepticism towards it by the international grazia contact community in Albania, he is generally respected abroad as a politician who is in harmony grazia contact with modern Albania and population his mainly youthful likes more than Berisha. Despite being among the Albanians living outside the capital there is some reluctance on the perception of him as a politician of the center in Tirana, I think that most Albanians are eager to change and are willing to give a chance to Rama.
- You, British analysts, Prof I mean here. James Pettifer, be been quite critical of Berisha in the first period of his rule in the first half of the 90s. What you see as the most serious mistakes Berisha then, but the following?
- Like most people I was pleased to see the arrival of democracy in Albania in 1992 and was initially impressed with the rhetoric of
