Ugly but 'Biutiful' | Asturias in Welsh
Film long (two and a half hours) is Biutiful; but one did gadw'm eyes and my mind to be addicted to the screen reinventing beauty magazine at all times. Film that has been nominated for an Oscar - best film in a language other than English, and Javier Bardem for best actor.
Bardem's performance is amazing: reinventing beauty magazine it appears in almost every scene, and his relationship with his wife (alcoholic and bipolar), his children, his brother and the world non-immigrant papers where he earns his living, is skeleton of the story. (And then not to mention his relationship with his father, who died before he was born.) I do not want to say too much about the events of the plot; multitude and they are often unexpected and I do not want to spoil it for anyone. The Uxbal, the protagonist, lives at the bottom of society city of Barcelona. There Barcelona'r tourists than football, but the home all those people who keep going and send money back to China or Africa. (He also has a strange gift: he can hear the voices of the new-deceased. Attend funerals and is being paid for by the family of the dead pass messages.)
It sounds horrible person, but he's a lot more complex. Throughout the film there is someone to see it do good things for his family or for the immigrants, and despite terrible development in his personal life he. But somehow it's his good intentions reinventing beauty magazine do not bear the fruit he expected; is a very sad ending.
Alejandro reinventing beauty magazine Iñárritu is the director. It has made good films before (Amores BERROS, 21 Grams) and some would prefer to forget (Babel), and Biutiful is definitely one of the good ones. Conflict relentless is his goal: the characters between individual and collective scale, in the minds of Uxbal himself, and style of the film. Facts realistic horrific colliding with beautiful views. Go to see!
