Her om dagen hadde vi ‘guest-lecture’ av Louise Court (twitter @LouiseCosmoEd), som er Chief Editor av Cosmopolitan UK. Jeg synes magasin-journalistikk høres veldig spennende ut, så dette var uten tvil en inspirerende og interessant forelesning for min del. Tenkte jeg skulle dele noen av nøkkelordene jeg noterte meg.
Cosmopolitan UK. Little background. Working in Cosmo - how to get there . Remember: you are extremely lucky if you get your dream-job bazaar magazine right away You will have to work for horrible people, but also amazing and inspiring people Don’t let anybody tell you that you’re ‘rubbish’ You will meet them on your way up, but also on their way down – payback You will have to write about ‘dull’ things, bazaar magazine but you will learn on the way – build experience Love your work, and be passionate bazaar magazine about it; The more you put into this career, the more you will get out of it Take responsibility Think: inclusive – not exclusive It’s not about your ego, it is about your reader You will edit for a state of mind; Don’t be a Diva – it won’t be all glamour when it all starts You have to get in there and work – and then you will slowly bazaar magazine get to the top (just don’t be a ‘pain in the ass’. hehe) Always bazaar magazine move with the times Enjoy your work – when you have a good time at work, you will provide better work We focus on a good CV, but also your interest (ex. if you have a fashion-blog) – before a job-interview be prepared and do your own research so you really know the magazine
Jeg er ganske forvirra; under London Fashion Week fikk jeg lysten på å jobbe i mote-magasin, men når vi har politiske møter og nyhetsskriving så føler jeg mer for å jobbe som korrespondent (eller lignede) rundt omkring i verden. Jeg synes likevel det var gøy å skrive ‘feature’ oppgave tidligere i januar, og jeg gleder meg til å begynne på ‘magazine-journalism’ som vi skal ha neste år. Hvem vet!
Hmmm, det er litt vanskelig å si, egentlig. Regnet kan plutselig komme, og er litt uforutsigbart, eller hva jeg skal si. Men Bergen er utrolig fin om sommeren :) Sånn fra mai til september. Mange dager uten regn over lengre perioder og med masse sol og varme, og det er da byen er på sitt aller vakreste :D
mm, det er så mange spennende jobber man kan finne i et magasin:)
